How do I remove sound in Movie Maker? (1 Viewer)

Steve Sheehan
Using Windows Vista Home Edition, Movie Maker. (I'm an absolute beginner at this lark, so please make it simple if at all possible)

I have some good video, but all I have on the soundtrack is ambient noise from inside the hide. How do I get rid of this sound? I don't want to replace it, just have silence.

Any help appreciated.

Steve.

A quick Google produced this.

1. Click on the bit of the video you want to mute.
2. Click on "Clip" at the top of the screen.
3. Click on audio.
4. Click on mute.

Does that work?

Tried that, but all the Clip>Audio options are greyed out. I assume I have to 'select' the soundtrack first, but can't find how to do that. In Timeline, the Audio line is just blank.

Thanks for trying though.
