Possible photographic tip! (1 Viewer)

Clive Watson

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit ampheta
I don't know if this can be classed as a tip based on one experience, and apologies if this is widespread knowledge, but something I noticed when photographing Redstarts yesterday...

In the process of setting up some logs for birds to perch on, I inevitably disturbed the leaf litter, and the birds didn't waste any time in coming down to clear up any insects that I'd presumably exposed. Same principle as the Robin which follows you around while you're digging the garden, I guess.

So before a photographic session, it might be worth giving the undergrowth a quick going over. Obviously this won't apply in all cases, but it might be useful for those who are keeping their feeding stations going into the summer (something I've only recently begun to investigate).
