Pink bluebird eggs? (1 Viewer)

Hello, I am new here and have a question. I have already fledged a brood of eastern bluebirds and black capped chickadees this year. I cleaned out the boxes and about a week ago I saw a pair of blues investigating one of the boxes. I saw a nest taking form over the last week and then today there was an egg. However, it is distinctly pink. I have researched and it seems this is not unheard of... but it IS rare. Does anybody here have any insight or experience? Thanks for your time.
