Oman/Red Sea cruise

There are several repositioning cruises in April which go from Dubai/Muscat in Oman, along the Omani coast, up the Red Sea and into the Med (and vice versa in November). £1300 for 2 weeks with Tui/Marella cruises. In theory, there should should be some very nice seabirds and cetaceans, particularly in the Gulf of Oman & Arabian Sea. Pelagics off Mirbat in Oman get good numbers of Jouanin's, Persian Shears etc. Migration up the Red Sea in late April would be very interesting too, plus the Med. species on that stretch.

Has anyone done one of these cruises? Any good/bad experiences, from a wildlife watching perspective?

Not done that cruise but it sounds interesting.
We stayed in Dahab on the Red Sea during migration season and saw a few decent migrants as well as resident birds too. It's not that far from Eilat so there's no reason birds going through there wouldn't have passed through Dahab too.
Depending on where it's stopping off in the Med, there'll be opportunities for seeing somemigrants too.
We've done cruises during migration time stopping at Med ports in Israel, Eygpt, Turkey and Cyprus where there plenty of migrating birds in and around the ports or at sea.
