Weeks holiday in Majorca (1 Viewer)

Hi. We are just about to start a weeks holiday in Majorca staying in Alcudia. Any tips and advice on good sites and what is about would be greatly received. We will be using public transport to get about.

Hi SpringerJack. Everything that is around is posted on the thread next to this one on the main page for Spain and the Balearics so you can keep up to date with what is being seen and where. If you go to the main reserve of Albufera you can get a free map of the reserve showing you all the best viewing places.
There are also books available to buy but the best one would be “A Birding Tourist’s Guide to Mallorca” by Rebassa et al. and this will give you details of other sites to visit like Boquer, Albufereta, Son Real, Maristany and other’s all of which are easily reached by public transport.
Good luck and do let us know what you see. Mike.

Hi Mike thanks for that. Not been to Majorca for about 10 years so really looking forward to it. Will definately check out the thread and let you know what we see. Thanks Jon

We have stayed in Cala Bona numerous times and found out just have a walk on area away from the built up hotel ones just on rough land and the fields . We have seen some really good ones by just doing this Stone Curlew, Hoopoe, Sardinian Warblers etc just within about 15 mins walk.
