5/4/10.Whilst clearing next door's very overgrown patio (lived in by an old cripple),I found an apparently dead or hybernating snake coiled up under the rank vegetation & rubbish;I carried it with a stick & put it on bunker in my patio,& then put it on a piece of paper, traced round it & drawn, length worked out as 30";Adder makings looked up in a book.(My browser was down.)Some five hours & I finally realised it was made of rubber!
A child must have thrown it down from the balcony years ago & it got very weathered.
I once found allot of large Toads under a log,by the Gt.West Rd.here, some half a mile from water.
Apparently Grass snakes are twice as long as Adders - could they constrict one?
