Public use telescopes/bins (1 Viewer)

Folks,

I am looking for a suitably robust indestructable high quality telescope for public use (not coin operated) - does anybody have any experience of these things? And can anybody recommend a good vendor/product line? The usual vendors don't seem to do them at all...

(for a good cause)

Thanks

Try contacting the Military or Army/Navy surplus, they might have an ex-battleship viewing scope/bins. Their is one inside one of the hides at Slimbridge. I believe it came of an old WW2 battleship and it is a heafty bit of kit and the optics are suprisingly good.
Worth a try.
