i would have thought about it seriously if the f at 200mm was less than 4. with the 20TC it will be 8, not bad for photography in Jeddah, but i already have the Olympus 300 mm with the 1.4TC and it give me 5.6 at 420 mm.

the new 200mm f2.8 is completely out of question for me, too expensive, and for a zoom lens for travailing, guess the Lumix 100-300mm II is still the best choice.

I travelled to Japan with my PL 100-400 :)

I consider most of Panama relatively safe, with the possible exception of central Panama City and Colon. It is my impression that most other birders visiting the area agree???

the 300 mm f2.8 already broke my left arm, not really :-O, but it is too heavy to be used handheld. a need something lighter.

i am still thinking of the 50-200mm pro lens as i know it would give super IQ, don't you think so, would be interesting to see some real world images.

I'm in the process of swapping from Canon to G9 and am seriously considering this lens. Will probably get a metabones to use with my Canon 300mm f4

i think you are doing the right thing.

i would have thought about this lens if i did not have the Zuiko 40-150mm pro + 1.4TC combination.

but i guess the 50-200mm with the G9 will give you 6 stops of stabilization. which means super videos and great sharp shots at low shutters.
