Hello from the Philippines (currently in Florida) (1 Viewer)

Hello!

Paulo here from the Philippines. I’ve been a long time reader of birdforum, but decided to finally create account because I have a question... Like plenty people, these strange times have somehow gotten us to appreciate nature more.

I am primarily an amateur astronomer, I have a 10x42 IS, after trying out birding I realized it’s a hobby I want to partake.

I plan on buying a pair for birding and nature viewing. I don’t want to use the Canons for this, it’s to cumbersome. I will use that for astro stuff only.

I’ve narrowed it to the SF 8x32 and NL 8x42
— I know! Apples and bowlin balls. I know about the completely different specs, I would probably get both eventually but what would you guys recommend “getting first” as someone who is a newbie to birding (but not in optics as I do astronomy).

Would appreciate the input!

Thank you!
