Great Legs, Bad Head, Zhumell WDF4 tripod

Paid $120 for this tripod. It's all metal and has nice sturdy legs but the head was very jerky in elevation and floppy about the azimuth axis unless the stop was tightened. It was a frustrating matter of trial and error trying to point a spotting scope. I would have sent it back but decided to try modifying the head instead. Fortunately I was able to get it to move and point acceptably well at 60X.

The tripod alone is probably worth the $120. The head is virtually useless without modification.
