Can't think of anything this could be except a Western Bluebird, but that would be very unlikely around here.

It has too much red for Mountain Bluebird, which anyway doesn't nest in Los Angeles County; as far as I know it seems too early for that species to be migrating. The map in the western Sibley shows Western Bluebird nesting in the coastal mountains of southern California.
