Morning I moved house last year and have an established Victorian garden, unfortunately my puppy found and killed 5 blue tit fledglings in the space of an hour😱.

I meant to take the nesting box down or move it but I forgot there are now more blue tits and the babies look big enough to soon leave the nest.

I don’t think I can cope with another massacre, keeping the dog indoors isn’t an option for an extended period of time.

1. How long do blue tit fledglings stay on the ground for?

2.is putting some kind of safety net an option?

Hello Michelle and welcome,
I think you have to keep the dog under control until they fly away, I think once out of the nest it will only be a matter of days before they disperse.
