Dear All

Does this bird look good for Blyth's reed warbler ??

I had noticed that many features fit for the species but again not sure .

Kindly assist

yes i think it is a blyth's reed warbler.

Can you explain why you have dismissed 'Caspian' Reed Warbler - A.s.fuscus, to me there are a number of features that don't quite fit a classic - overall rich colour, darkish edge to the supercilium, darkish bill.

No doubt someone better than me can read the wing formula from the picture - I always struggle

It’s clearly BRW, primary projection is half that of the overlying tertials, with the emargination on p3 falling well within the tertials. On fuscus the emargination would be well up the wing not unlike Reed/Marsh Warbler outside the tertial area.
