Birds of Ecuador field guide app (1 Viewer)

I have instead experience with the Sunbird version for which I can give nothing better than a lukewarm recommendation.

My question would be the taxonomy: due to it being older, the Ridgely book does not have all the latest changes.

I should supplement with a few more of my impressions of the Sunbird app: voices included are a big help. The drawings are from Restalls Birds of northern SA with the good and bad that they have - but there are some strange omissions:
Blue-black grassquit is not included
The flight images of raptors are not included

There are other cases where the subspecies depicted was not the relevant one (but given the completeness of the text, the entry was still helpful)
The range maps are lacking in accuracy and detail in a lot of cases.

Overall, having the app was a lot better than having nothing.

If you want something electronic but more up-to-date an alternative would be the electronic version (Kindle or PDF) of the Freile and Restall Helm guide to Ecuador. I think the price would be similar to the app.
