Taking telescopes / long camera lenses /bins through Amman airport in Jordan (1 Viewer)

I have read (on here I think) that a few years ago there have been issues with taking such items though the airport and equipment has occasionally been confiscated. Does anyone have recent experience of taking a scope or long camera lens through security at that airport ? I'd be loathed to lose it, especially given some reports suggested that when you return you have the option to pretty much take any optics/camera from the storage room as "yours" !

Thanks
Tony
