Digiscoping w/Fieldscope III (1 Viewer)

I've been enjoying my Angled 60mm Fieldscope. There have been quite a few times where I've wanted to take a "shot". I.E. a King Eider amongst some Scoters and Common Eiders on coast of Maine.

My question(s): 1) Is it worth Digiscoping with a 60mm scope vs if that's what you want to do get a bigger scope? 2) If the answer is yes, what camera is a good pairing with the Nikon scope? 3) I keep reading about the Nikon Coolpix 5100.

Regards, CJF

I've used both Nikon and Canon point-and-shoot digital cameras with my Fieldscope III and they work reasonably well - no special adaptors - just hold the camera lens up to the scope eyepiece and shoot. Takes a bit of practice to minimize vignetting and get a decent shot, but it can be done... Won't work well on flying birds, though, of course.

Appreciate the reply. I think I'll experiment first with a point and click. Then consider adding an adapter & DS Lens.
