Winter Birding In Alberta (1 Viewer)

I think forumites will be interested to learn that many birders in Alberta are taking part in a winter survey that started on Dec !. So far, over 128 species have been seen in the province-that is excellent I think, and all the counts are still to come.

ps I posted here as I am not sure how to aceess the main forum. Any advice welcome!

Is this the same as the Winter Bird Lists that are kept here in the maritimes every year? The listing period goes from 1 Dec. until 28 Feb., I believe.

We've just started doing that in Iceland, Dan, and the idea came from an Icelandic birder who spent a year in Canada a couple of years back. Hope that the Canadians don't have a copyright on it!! It just makes the winter pass more quickly.

Bird Count

Here in Victoria we have a one day count, usually the Sat. before Christmas. Last year in that single day we counted 137 species. To answer your PS, I'm not too sure of what you wanted but I think you go to Forums right at the top left and then go right down the page past all the info etc and then onto the different segmants. Hope this is what you wanted, but heck, what do I know.
