Hi col46,

A warm welcome to BirdForum from all the Moderators and Admin. Glad to have you on board

I take it you are going to see the Red Kites in the Chilterns. You won't be disappointed.

Hello and welcome!
If you look at the Birds of Prey section and find Stop Press... Red Kites, you will find the North-East England Kite Project, which is perhaps even nearer to you than the Chilterns, from where our chicks come each year.
We have had Dutch naturalists over twice, to see how our kites are doing...why don't you come and see us?
Here are some photos for you:
1. A Dutch Visitor Safari
2. Northern Kites Project leader, Keith Bowey with chick 34 (my avatar)
3. Perched kites

The Chilterns project has been so successful that in 2004 they gave us 20 chicks and last year, they were even more generous. We received 40!!
To the best of our knowledge all but 2 of our kites are still alive. And this final UK project is the only one being carried out in a semi-urban environment.

Have a great time............
