the Zuiko 40-150mm pro + the 1.4 TC

i just want to say that i have been using this relatively light combination with the OM D em5 markII and the pen F for a year and it seem to give me some nice results.

a cheaper alternative for those who can't afford the Zuiko 300mm f4, or the Lumix 200mm f2.8 primes.

check this

https://www.birdforum.net/gallery/sh...1/ppuser/71763

but for sure using the lens alone gives more sharp images, but also less reach.

I totally agree, the 2,8/40-150 is a great lens, with or without the MC-14.
And it is also very nice for butterflies, etc. as the near point is 0.7 meters.

For birds, the 4/300 + MC-14 of course is the optimum, but it is not only expensive, it is also bigger and heavier.

150mm is usually too short howver there are occasions where 300mm is too much.

The Black Kite is at 150mm, the Rollers at 210mm.

OK i have noticed something, wonder if you agree.

the 300 mm + 1.4 TC gives sharper images than the 40-150 mm + 1.4 TC.

is it because primes are usually sharper, or is it because of the lack of lens stabilization in the zoom?

or am i completely wrong.
