Hello,

Doe anyone know the difference between the Mikron Anniversary Edition and the standard one?

I cant seen to find any info on these. Its quite limited.

Regards
Bruno

Hi Bruno,

It seem that there have been two Anniversary Edition Mikrons:
A) In Oct 1997 the 6x15 CF in chrome (with black central band)
B) In Sep 1998 the 7x15 CF in black

In 2000 there was also a Milennium Edition 7x15 CF in champagne finish (with black band)

For the details go to Hans Braakhuis’ site: http://www.hansbraakhuis.nl/Nikon/Nikon.html
Go down the first column to ‘verrekijkers’, then across to:
- ‘Mikron Presentation’ (dated Oct 2011), which includes the attached screen grab
- ‘Mikron verrekijkers’ (dated May 2012), for more detail (in Dutch - you can Google Translate)

The 6x15 Anniversary is clearly multi-coated, see the attached image from catawiki: https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/25211755-nippon-kogaku-nikon-6x15-micron#lot

Bear in mind that the current production may very well have improved coatings

John

Thanks John, that was very informative :)

Thanks Bruno and John for this interesting discussion. Based on the pictures John provided it does appear there are different coatings on the recent 7x and 6X Microns. Whereas the pictures above show some green reflections, mine both show blue reflections on the coatings.
