Uganda - Passerine (1 Viewer)

Firstly I have zero experience north of the border (Zim) so can only talk about Southern African birds!
But here with Cisticolas we look first for: mottled back, plain back, or short tailed, and work from there. Generally if it’s mottled Backed, nondescript with no real distinguishing features, it’s Rattling.
With Cisticolas the call is often very important. Couple that with habitat and range and you are normally ok. There is always the added difficulty of sometimes significant seasonal variations in plumage to factor in! Can be tricky birds to ID at times...
