G8INA's Life list, seen & heard + photo links

Being a relative newbie to birding, I may make a few mistakes, so if anyone spots a glaring error, please LMK. Gear consists of my own eyes and ears, plus a Nikon D70, D200, Tamron 28-300 F6.3, and I used to have a Revelation telescope as a manual lens at 500mm F6.2. Home was Telford, about 40Km west of Birmingham UK, but is now Northampton.

Edit 12 June - corrected errors in descriptions and count.

I just did some checking of my records and my 100th bird seems to be a Northern Harrier, Circus cyaneus. I saw this species for the first time on September 29, 1990. Some people here still call this bird the Marsh Hawk, which is what it was called here in the states years ago.

This is the same species as your Hen Harrier, Circus cyaneus, (bird #46 in your list).

Not an increase but an upgrade :

No 58 is upgraded from heard to seen. Barn Owl, last night. Now I know where he lives, I might take a hike (in my wheelchair, yeah sure...) and see if I can see him again.

110. Little Egret

Caught a fleeting glimpse of a large bird, like an eagle, but no positive ID, so no life tick :(

Top of the mountains at Monchique, and 100% mist cover, plus severe travel sickness to boot... Not going there again!

111. Pied Flycatcher :)

Just sat in the garden and it flew into a bush and stayed there for 20 mins. After that, I kept seeing it in the same place, so I reckon it "lives" very close.
