On the other hand a number of very good birders (experts even
) on here have either said it isn't a Pine Bunting, or that it is a Corn Bunting ...

Agree 100%. There's nothing like agreeing with those who say it's what you want it to be! What/who the *+^* is Ebird BTW? Are all our birding ID worries really over?
