Duck - Chicago, USA (1 Viewer)

Hybrid between a domesticated Mallard and a domesticated Muscovy Duck. An escape from a poultry farm (they're bred for meat production, as they grow fast, but are sterile).

Dark plumage (with green/brown undertones), very short wings, long rear end, tail feathers pointed rather than curly, reddish tones on bill = all traits of Muscovy influence. Non-hybrid domestic Mallards may have some traits, but are unlikely to have them all. I don't think I have ever seen such a reddish bill on a non-hybrid domestic Mallard.
