Hello,

I would like to ask for confirmation if is this a Large Copper?
(I posted this question already in the parent forum of this one and realised again that it was posted in the wrong location :( sorry)

Thank you very much in advance,
Istvan

I think that on just an upper wing view, it's almost impossible to rule out Purple-edged which can look like this but it would be a bit early for that?

Usually, Large Copper has a thicker mark on the forewing rather than the slim, dash that we see here but it's variable.

Here's one that's labelled as Purple-edged that looks like yours but you have to be carefull with Google, don't assume that all pictures are correctly identified.

Thank you very much Andy for the confirmation!

Assuming that the upper wings would be enough was my bad. I checked the underwings of some similar species and all seemed the same for my naive eyes.

Thanks again,
Istvan
