Hi all, just returned from a trip visiting relatives in South Wales, and had half a days birding around the Taf Fechan forest area.
Sightings I saw included 10+ Redstarts (adults and Juvs), 5+ Spotted Flycatchers, 2 Ravens, good numbers of Buzzards and small numbers of Crossbills, Lesser Redpolls, and Siskins in the surrounding fields next to the Taff Trail.
I would imagine that you could see most of the upland species of South Wales in the surrounding area, if you had more time, and also at the right time of the year.
Cheers,
Dave Gray.:t:
