Hi
We had a pair of lesser spotted woodpeckers feeding on the large feeder for two days First time we have ticked this species in the garden, Probably chased out of Horner Wood just over the hill from us, were they are quite common.
But they have moved on now, nice cock bullfinch also paid us a visit last week.
Blackbirds nest building bluetits showing interest in the tit boxes,as I don't disturb boxes this time of year I shall have to wait until they start feeding to know what if any as used the other boxes.I have changed from Sunflower hearts to cracked sunflower hearts still readily accepted by the goldfinch and siskins with far less wasted on the floor and should be better for feeding the young, they were no too happy for a few days and moved onto the niger seed but are now on the sunflower cracked hearts.
Regards
Rex.
