With no signs of any Ospreys mating or taking over the nest at Loch Garten so far in 2019. Could this be the end of an era at Loch Garten that possibly no Ospreys will attempt to breed and have young or won’t attempt to take over the Loch Garten nest. So far it’s been been very quiet on the Loch Garten Osprey nest in 2019 with only brief sightings of an occasional Osprey on the nest at Loch Garten. What do other members of Bird Forum think?

Even if they don't this year, there's next year: and in the meantime Loch Garten-raised Ospreys are raising more throughout Speyside and beyond. One year's vacancy of one tree doesn't matter, particularly in the context of Scottish Osprey recovery overall.

No Capercaillies and now no Ospreys - it is a big set-up to watch Red Squirrels, Coal Tits and so on smeared with peanut butter.

Let us hope that things return.
