Giving the Henderson petrel a fighting chance (1 Viewer)

Although it's as far as you can get from the UK, Henderson Island - in the central Pacific - is still part of the UK. The RSPB wants to eradicate rats from this UK overseas territory to prevent the deaths of 25,000 seabird chicks each year. This is the Henderson petrel's only known nesting location and with 95 per cent chick mortality per annum these seabirds will only have a limited future. Read more...

This may be of interest for anyone wishing to support the RSPB Project and collect some very nice postage stamps at the same time.

Yes, they are a nice set of stamps and I'm pleased with mine, however only about 70p of the total cost of about £7.50 will go towards saving the petrels and other rare birds so a direct donation (especially with UK Gift Aid) via the RSPB will have more effect.
