Two U/I Shorebirds at Moss Landing, CA (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
With the help of the forum's members, I have managed to identify every bird in my collection of photos. I have attached photographs of the last two unidentified birds. I took both of these photographs at Moss Landing, California in the middle of October, 2011.

Once again, I thank you in advance for your assistance!

Agree on Sanderling. I'd go with Black-bellied Plover for the second based on long, thick bill (note also white vent).

Note also the hind toe (which the various "golden plovers" lack)

Interesting, I was not aware that the Golden Plovers lacked a hind toe. I usually don't get close enough for it to be a useful field mark, but still a good thing to know.
