I spotted this character cruising by over Puglia's Ionian Sea shoreline: predominently white with black bill, tipped red; black legs; a dark iris; black wingtips tipped with white and a white lozenge on the terminal feather. Can any one assist with an ID? Many thanks.gull porto di cesario puglia-1.jpg

Thankyou both. I had thought of Audouin's Gull, but I'd never seen one previously and, based on the description I read, I wondered if the legs weren't too dark and the bill too black. Behaviour bang on though.
