Hi all!

At the time I assumed this was a female painted bunting, but the bill looks very wrong now I'm looking at the photo. Yellow phase lesser goldfinch?

I think the bill is too strong for any goldfinch. It reminds me of what you would expect on a cowbird, but the color of the body is off for all of those I think. Weird!

I don't really know what else it could be if not a lesser goldfinch? Female blue grosbeak with some kind of pigment issue?

From a quick look through google images, looks like the heaviness of the bill is quite variable in lesser goldfinch?
