Yesterday while i was at work, something landed on my kneck and bit me.

Naturally as you do, i slapped that part of my kneck to reveal a Black lady bird with red spots. I didn't know lady birds could bite. But it did hurt and did for the rest of the day which also ached. I don't know if it was just being consious of the bite so it ached more.

But i was just wondering if they are poisnous/can lay eggs in you or anything.

Can someone help?

Thank you,

P.s. i dont know what type of lady bird it was, all i know it was black with red spots (dont no how many)

Thank you

Probably a harlequin. Apparently they do bite people out of desperation when they're hungry! No they're not poisonous and no, they don't lay eggs in you (!), but some people have an alergic reaction.

As somone else that has been bitten by a Ladybird don't worry Mine happened 2 years ago whilst in Mallorca, we had sat down and I think that was a Harlequin one landed on my arm and decided to take a nip of my skin [think it was trying to eat my freckles] it was a bit sore at the time but it soon went, as somone who has really sensative skin I had no problems after.
