Hi folks, apologies for the image quality, it was a grab shot! Wondering is this could be a he elusive Corncrake? Spotted on Easdale, one of the tiny ‘Slate Islands’ just off the Scottish Coast, close to Oban.
We did hear the distinctive call in the distance, but whilst we were watching, it was just calling for it’s chicks so not the normal call.

Sorry, the left hand bird is a hen pheasant whilst I strongly suspect the right hand image is a juvenile too.
