Anybody used night vision binoculars? (1 Viewer)

I wonder if anybody used night vision binoculars for any purpose and can comment, if they can be practical for watching owls, smaller mammals (eg. size of cat or rabbit) or large mammals on walking trips at night.

For example: are they too bulky? is their resolution good? are they really good in darkness?

I'm afraid, that because hunters don't already use them often (and there is plenty of hunters who have connections with the military and are rich) means that they are useless.

I bought some Nightvision recently, ATN NVG-7, and have been very impressed with it for observing Fox, Badger, Roe Deer, Rabbit, Hare, Bats and Owls. In conjunction with a 5x lens, I have been very impressed with the distance I have been able to identify Barn Owl and Badger, 100m+.

It was an expensive investment, but a worthwhile one thus far, much to my relief!

Cheers,

Bill.
