Dunnock bird song? This morning Liverpool UK (1 Viewer)

No this is a Wren! There is a very superficial resemblance I suppose, but ...

Yeh, I thought I had the Wren nailed down then I heard this long song - not the one I've uploaded - and thought it to be a Wren but found it to be a Dunnock.

I'd only ever heard Dunnocks singing a short song so was surprised at my find as on Xeno they all seem to be pretty short in duration.

Anyhoo, as with all birding - it's always good to learn more.

Wrens' song is really vigourous and energetic; and if you watch one singing you can see its little body quivering with the effort. Dunnocks' song is much quieter, almost feeble in comparison.
