Help identifying binoculars. (1 Viewer)

Apologies if I posted in a wrong subforum. If so, can admins plz move it?

I would like some help with identifying vingate binoculars. I bought them on a garage sale, the optics looked solid and they were sturdy so I picked them up.

The stats are:
8x56, 114/1000m, 1125g weight.
The serial number reads: 86357.

Any idea what make are they? It seems that the brand sticker on the top of the bridge has worn off/dislodged.

Hi,

any J-B number to be found somewhere? Maybe inside the objective tubes?

Hi, I had a look. Cannot see any numbers on the inside of the binoculars nor anywhere else.

Welcome H,

If it was a genuine Optolyth it might say Ceralin coatings in German.

The plastic strap looks perhaps Japanese, or other Asian maker.

Is there a case for it?

The Nr. mark may not mean it is really from Germany.
Probably not, but I suppose the serial number could be 1986.

The lack of a maker marking may be deliberate to inflate value.

Are the eyecups cut off?
Is the eye relief short with glasses?

The Green multicoating means not very early.

My 16x56 Hensoldt is much lighter weight but in leather covering.

Could it be an older Bresser made in Asia?

Are the front objectives actually 56mm aperture?

Rather a japanese clone of Optolyth's clone of the Hensoldt/Zeiss Dialyt... Back in the days there was a lot of german sounding trademarks peddling those.. and still plenty around on german ebay or classifieds.
