I know the STX models are interchangeable, but is there any performance difference/upgrade the new STX has over the older STS model?

If I'm only thinking of buying one scope/size, can I save money and get the same performance?
 
The STX is better, but is it $1100 better? To some yes, some no. I certainly don't think you'd be disappointed with the STS. Not much help, eh?
