Duck, Canary Islands

It is not often that I am completely thrown in the field but raging sun-stroke last week turned my brian to mush and resulted in no useful field notes. Any thoughts from the attached two unaltered images (other than a heavy crop) would be appreciated.

Sorry - should have been clearer. Happy the larger duck was a Ruddy Shelduck (of which there were 70+ on site); it was the smaller bird that was puzzling me. Plently of small Ruddy Shelduck ducklings but couldnt ID anything older than the "fluffy" stage.
