How much!
Hi,

I photographed this bird in my garden yesterday, it was skulling in the undergrowth and wouldn't come out.
I've identified it as a female Siskin, well I'm 90% certain. Could someone please confirm or not.
Thanks
Dave

Luckybirder,
The photo in question, seeing as the bird is under cover, the foilage could be giving a cast to the image. I didn't process the image, I've now hopefully removed the cast. Does this change things? Sorry about that.
Dave

I would have said Greenfinch Juve as well. I agree they don't appear very green, more of a light green/light brown .
The beak looks right also for a greenfinch..why do you find it the wrong shape Lucky birder?

I don't know, I've obviously seen plenty of juvenile greenfinches. I've been gardening all day, perhaps the heat has affected my brain |:$|

Definite juvenile Greenfinch. The size of the bill says it all, really thick and strong. Siskins have a delicate beak not dissimilar to a Goldfinch used to break much smaller seeds.

Regards,
