Hi My names Wayne

I'm total newbie to bird watching, so hoping to find lots of information and help on the subject, so please bare with me until I find my feet

Also looking for a set binoculars for a beginner with a top budget of around £150
so any suggestion would be great

Thanks

Hi ya Wayne and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

We're a gentle bunch so ask away with any questions. ;) You might want to peruse the binocular section of the forum as it is a very active section of BF.

Hi Wayne and a warm welcome from me too.

All things Scottish can be found here. Keep an eye on threads titled Scottish Bashes, we usually have one or two meetings each year and they're all great fun; you'd be most welcome to join us if you can manage.

Thank you for the welcome, shall have a look through the scottish section.

Hopefully I can make A bash at some pont maybe hard as I work weekends but have 4 days off A week so cant wait to get out and spot and maybe photography some stunning looking birds

Hi Wayne, welcome from me too from across the pond. I was resident in England before I retired and have family that lived in Rosyth, not far from you. I used to drive through Methil often, usually on the way somewhere else. ;)

My binoculars have always been second hand. Currently a pair of Zenith 10x50 that I bought on ebay quite cheap. They work well now, they had a double image when I got them but I had them repaired and realigned at a place in the UK that I found on the 'net. They work great now and I am happy with the work done on them.

Going to go to vane farm on monday so I can get a feel for some then buy them after that

Oh, Vane Farm!! What a wonderful place. I used to take my kids there in the mid 70's. Of course, at that stage I was pretty good at scrambling up the hill too. Last time I was there, I think it was around 2002. I LOVE their restaurant and the view over the Loch.

Yeah it's a lovely view, takes my breath away every time I drive passed.

Think ill take the camera with me and maybe take a few pictures after I've tried the bins out

Maybe by luck catch a couple of birds I the photo's too
