Dendrocopos major x syriacus hybrid? (1 Viewer)

This adult male was registered in the park in Lviv city, W Ukraine, 12.03.2018
Is it hybrid between D. major and D. syriacus?

In Poland during a recent survey, it was found that 5.3% of pairs were D.major x D.syriacus and that the figure might well be higher than the sample survey suggested.
