Pocket Checklist of the Birds of OSME Region (1 Viewer)

This 64-page booklet just arrived with the latest issue of Sandgrouse (40(1)). It's dated March 2018 and refers to the "recently published HWPB by Shirihai & Svensson 2018". It is not (yet) mentioned as far as I can see on the OSME website and the latest online version of the OSME Region List is version 4.1 which dates from the middle of 2017.

There are numerous indications throughout the passerine part of the checklist of where Shirihai & Svensson adopt a different treatment to the IOC World Bird List 8.1. It will be interesting if/when that work is actually published to see the explanations for those treatments.

The checklist also notes different treatments e.g. by BirdLife International (BLI).
