The Scottish indicators should include Wildcat and Hen Harrier, see how clever they look then. Best measure of ecosystem health is apex predators.

Do you happen to know what the Scottish indicators do include John?
It seems that the 22 indicators are actualy indicator "sets" and include multiple species in each indicator. I can't find a breakdown of individual species.

They may be heavily persecuted on grouse moors, but at a national level, the Scottish Hen Harrier population increased by 45% from 436 pairs to 633 pairs between 1998 and 2004.

No I only had time for a quick look yesterday, didn't find out. The cynic in me wonders how seriously government will have taken this.
