I'm not sure about Lanner's , but I went birding in Zante in May and saw 3 Levant Sparrowhawks. Hope you spot them both |=)|

I've often wondered if the bird I saw in Rhodes in August was a Levant, but what little information I can find highlights that they are scarce on passage in the Greek Islands.

Cheers Nick, Morocco seems to be the best area for Lanner that I can see, though I am a little unsure about Morocco at present given the current situation. Though I know the risk is still low, even though I am a single traveller.

Nick, I just saw this. To avoid hijacking this thread by questions and answers about Morocco, I started a new thread where I tried to answer your question. If you want to reply, please do it in the new thread at this link http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=317049
Thanks.

Finally managed to see a pair of these birds displaying in the Cavagrande di Cassabile, Sicily last week. I had really close, prolonged views.

It might be a good, reliable spot to see them, as others have reported them from that site.

Might get the book to celebrate :)
