Raven up Dell Road from Moor Green this evening, sitting in trees calling. Earlier one of the local residents had noted its size and call amongst other corvids in the field west of Dell Road.

It was an immature bird, no beard, worn tail but big bill and classic Raven Pruk pruk calls.

Redshanks are in. Female Pintail still on Colebrook North yesterday. Green Sandpiper again yesterday.

Four Little Egrets flew west over the new workings at sunset today.

Shelduck still present yesterday, also Barn Owl showing well at the new workings. A Hobby is klepto-parasitising the Barn Owls by beating hell out of them in the air and nicking the voles they drop.

Well worth seeing, though I haven't caught it myself yet: several of the other regulars had.

Also excellent views of Garden Warbler and Whitethroat along the river.
