Where have all the blues gone? (1 Viewer)

I go to Sharpenhoe Clappers in South Beds regularly but this year I have seen only 1 blue. Last year I saw loadsIs there a population collapse or is this just local? I've also seen no Fritillaries, and the number of Burnets seems reduced too as last year they were in plague like numbers.

The nature reserve people seem to have changed the management, as half of the orchids were eaten by sheep while still in flower, but there are still lots of meadows for wild flowers. I doubt this is connected. I assume it is the wet weather.
