Hi all,
I am going to spend a 10-days holidays with my non birding family on the beginning of August in Scotland. Are seabird colonies and skuas still visible in Handa in that period? It is a very long drive from Edinburgh, I would like to do it only if really worth ...
In general, any suggestion on alternative birding spots in August (yes, I know, certainly not the best season for birds) would be very welcome!

Many thanks in advance
Stefano

Hi Stefano - according to our Opus article there should certainly be some Great Skuas around as well as a few other species.

However, the Puffins etc will have left in early/mid July.

You'll get more information about the island, including some links in that article. Though the SWT don't seem to have updated their website from last year - I don't expect it will have changed very much.
