Hi,
Photo taken last Saturday, in Snettisham, East Anglia, UK
I couldn't find those in Collins or Jonsson guides.I suspect these as a male and female, but I don't have a clue what species are those two...
Thanks in advance!

But your suspicions.. I dont know, what I do know is that these birds loose their summerplumage and start moulting to a total grey plumage.
That may cause the difference in amount of red.

Hi Stavros,

A warm welcome to BirdForum from all the Moderators and Admin.

As the others have said these are Knot. In full breeding plumage the male is a much more uniform red underneath, but as these are clearly in moult I am not sure the sex of these birds can be told.

Hi Guys,

Indeed it was my first post here.
Let me introduce myself (better late than not at all) - I am Stavros, I live in Ely, UK, and I've just started exploring East Anglia, the place where I moved (quite accidently) some time ago and decided to stay for a bit longer :)
By the way - I didn't expect that I could have the answer in a 5 mins!
You are Great and you make excellent site!
Greetings from tropical (recently) UK,
stavros
