A rare turtle dove, not seen in Britain for nearly 30 years, has been blown thousands of miles from its home in the Far East and settled on Orkney. Hundreds of bird watchers were last night flocking to the islands off the north coast of Scotland to see the rufous turtle dove, only the sixth to have been recorded in Britain. It is a native of Eastern Siberia, China, Japan, Burma and India.
